Pricing plans and order limits (options)

Live Product Options is billed per month, and each plan includes an allowance of personalized orders. This guide explains which plans exist, what counts towards the allowance, and what happens when the allowance runs out.

Is there a free plan?

Development stores can use the app for free without a time limit. Paid plans also start with a free trial. The trial is granted once per store, so an app extension added later does not come with its own trial.

What counts as a personalized order?

An order counts towards your monthly allowance when it arrives with option data attached. Orders that carry the _cl_options  property but no actual option value are not counted.

Deleting orders does not lower the counter

The counter is a running total for a given month, not a live count of the orders currently in your admin. Deleting orders in Shopify does not lower it, and there is no self-serve reset.

If your counter was inflated by an import or by test orders, you can contact support. The development team can reset the counter for you at the end of the month. You do not need to upgrade your plan in this case: the app keeps working and we will reset the limits on the 1st of the month for you.

When the limit is checked

The limit is checked on the 1st of every month for the month that just ended. It is not tied to the date you installed the app or to your Shopify billing date.

During the month the limit can be exceeded, and the app keeps working normally. Nothing is blocked while the month is running.

If you exceeded the limit

If the limit was exceeded in the month that just ended, you get a grace period rather than an immediate stop:

  • On the 1st you receive an email telling you the limit of your plan was exceeded.
  • Three days later a second reminder is sent if you have not upgraded.
  • Ten days after the first email, on the 11th, the app stops working in your store if you still have not upgraded.

Upgrading to a higher plan at any point during those ten days keeps everything running and resets the limit.

How the limit resets

  • If you stayed inside the limit, it resets automatically on the 1st of the month. There is nothing to do.
  • If you exceeded the limit, an upgrade is required to reset it.

Changing plans

You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from Plans page in the app. Usage is checked against the plan that is active at the end of a month.

Pausing subscription

If you want to pause your subscription, you can reach out to support and we will assist you with the process. Please note that pausing your subscription will stop the app from displaying on your storefront. The admin UI will still be accessible, but the app will not process any new orders during the pause period.

Cancelling subscription

Uninstalling the app will cancel your subscription automatically.
