Why does the upload field show on the collection page?

If the upload field is shown inside the product cards on your collection page, or in a Quick add or Quick buy popup, instead of only on the product page, this comes from the Automatic location setting.

With Automatic, the app looks for product forms on the page and adds the upload field to them. On Online Store 2.0 themes, every product card on a collection page contains a complete product form, because that is what the Quick add button uses to add the product to the cart. The app finds these forms too and adds the upload field there.

Product targeting does not change this. Targeting decides which products get an upload field. It does not decide on which page the field is shown, so a product you target is also matched inside its product card on the collection page.

Ask support us to turn off the automatic placement

If you would rather keep your current setup, it is possible to turn off the automatic placement for your store, so that the upload field is only shown where you placed it yourself via the Upload Field Block in Theme Editor. Please contact our support team from inside the app and ask us to turn off the automatic placement of the upload field.
