How can I export customer options from orders?

You can export a ZIP file of the order directly from the Shopify Order View > More actions > Export Order Zip:

You can also view and download the order in the app from the "Orders" page:

Each product that was using the app will have an options.csv file and all additional file uploads:

The options.csv contains all the customer entered options: 

Bulk export CSV

The default Shopify export does not contain the options from the app. (This is a limitation of the Shopify export functionality)

To export orders including the options, you can use the custom bulk action via the Shopify Orders View > More actions > Export options CSV:

The exported CSV file contains the order name and line item information with all the customer entered options:

Empty export for older orders

If the export works for your most recent orders but produces an empty file for older ones, this is not a limit from the app, but rather it's the Shopify's order access window limitation.

By default Shopify only grants apps access to orders from the last 60 days. Orders older than that are not visible to the app, so they are exported without any option data. Splitting the export into smaller batches does not help.

To export older orders, you can grant the app access to your full order history:

1. Open the app and go to Settings > Customer account settings.
2. Enable Customer access. This requests the additional permissions, including access to the full order history.
3. Close and re-open the app so Shopify shows the permission approval screen, and approve it.

After the permissions are approved, the export works for any order regardless of its age.
